Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mappls MapmyIndia, a leading digital mapping and geospatial technology company in India, to integrate real-time metro data into the Mappls navigation app. This partnership will empower over 35 million Mappls users to access detailed Delhi Metro information, such as nearby stations, routes, fares, line changes, train frequencies, and estimated travel times, directly within the app.

According to DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar, the integration aims to enhance commuter convenience by making travel across the Delhi-NCR region smarter, faster, and more seamless. Commuters will benefit from improved journey planning, easier navigation, and time savings. The initiative forms part of DMRC’s broader commitment to leveraging innovation and technology to build a smarter, safer, and more connected public transport ecosystem.

MapmyIndia co-founder and Group Chairman Rakesh Verma highlighted that the integration will soon be part of the app’s multi-modal transport feature, facilitating smooth travel planning that combines metro with other transport options. This partnership follows a recent agreement between Mappls and Indian Railways, reflecting MapmyIndia’s expanding role in India’s transportation technology landscape.

Beyond metro travel, the app will allow users to report civic and traffic issues such as congestion, parking difficulties, accidents, and waterlogging directly to relevant authorities, contributing to better urban traffic management and road safety. DMRC’s enhanced focus on public transport is further underscored by a recent increase in metro service capacity, encouraging commuters to shift from private vehicles to sustainable transit options.
