Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is gearing up to introduce its own digital payment platform, known as BSNL Pay. Leveraging the BHIM UPI infrastructure, this service promises secure, swift, and smart transactions directly through BSNL’s existing Selfcare application, rather than a separate app. The official launch date remains unconfirmed. According to a post from BSNL UP (East) Circle’s Twitter account, “BSNL Pay – Coming Soon! A new digital step by BSNL. Now UPI payments will be Secure | Swift | Smart, directly through the BSNL Selfcare App, powered by BHIM.” The post further mentioned, “Soon you’ll be able to recharge, pay bills & transfer money seamlessly with BSNL Pay.” This development arrives after BSNL announced a net profit of Rs 280 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2025. This marks the second straight profitable quarter for the firm following almost twenty years of losses, a significant recovery from the Rs 849 crore loss reported during the same period last year.
