The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Women Empowerment Vertical has launched a groundbreaking initiative to propel women into leadership roles within the technology sector, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainable global economic growth. This initiative, known as WE WISE Women in Innovation, Science, and Entrepreneurship, was unveiled during the BRICS Women Business Alliance’s Annual Plenary Meeting, currently being held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Additionally, BRICS CCI WE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Brazilian Chapter of the Women Business Alliance to further sustainable economic development and gender equity.
Ruby Sinha, President of BRICS CCI WE and Programme Lead for WE WISE, articulated the global scope of the initiative: “BRICS CCI WE WISE unites mentors, experts, and innovators from around the world, establishing a knowledge repository and a collaborative community that supports women and fosters inclusive economic growth and sustainable innovation across BRICS+ nations.” The initiative’s primary goal is to dismantle barriers and converge global visionaries and changemakers committed to reshaping the innovation landscape through a lens of inclusion.
With its comprehensive approach and international collaborations, the platform is set to act as a catalyst for enduring transformation, empowering women to lead with purpose, strength, and progress across BRICS+ economies. Sinha highlighted that this multi-faceted strategy is designed to inspire change and ensure women are integral to the future of technology and innovation.
