Andhra Pradesh has entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New York-based Tillman Global Holdings to develop a 300 MW hyperscale data center campus named TDGAP1 in Visakhapatnam. The project involves a proposed investment of Rs 15,000 crore and aims to establish Andhra Pradesh as a critical digital infrastructure hub in India and the Indo-Pacific region.

The data center campus is planned on approximately 40 acres and is expected to generate 200-300 direct jobs alongside 800-1,000 indirect jobs by 2028. These jobs are projected to stem from the development of allied sectors such as logistics, cloud services, networks, and ancillary enterprises. Tillman Global will provide investment, technology, planning, design, and essential equipment, while the Andhra Pradesh government will handle land allotments, incentives, and facilitate policy support following due processes.

This MoU creates a framework for the project’s timely execution within the next 12 months, with coordination by the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB), which will oversee investor facilitation and inter-agency cooperation under applicable state and central government policies.

Sachit Ahuja, Co-President of Tillman Global Holdings, emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s strong coastal connectivity, progressive governance, and expanding digital economy as decisive factors for this investment. Nara Lokesh, the state’s IT and HRD Minister, highlighted that this partnership reinforces Andhra Pradesh’s vision to position Visakhapatnam as a premier data center hub. The initiative complements other major tech investments in the state, including Google’s announced AI data center facility. The Rs 15,000 crore investment is expected to boost the state’s digital infrastructure, create skilled employment, and attract further allied sectors investment such as energy and cloud services.
