Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced a strategic investment to establish a 1 gigawatt (GW) artificial intelligence (AI) data center in Andhra Pradesh. The new facility, inaugurated at the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, will operate as a twin to Reliance’s existing gigawatt-scale AI data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, creating one of Asia’s most powerful AI infrastructure networks. Designed to be fully modular and future-ready, the center will host the world’s most advanced graphics processing units (GPUs), tensor processing units (TPUs), and AI processors, supporting a wide range of AI applications.
To ensure sustainable energy usage, Reliance will also develop a 6 GWp solar power project in Andhra Pradesh. This project is expected to more than double the state’s current ground-mounted solar capacity and contribute over 30% of its renewable energy supply, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh’s position as a leader in clean energy adoption. Alongside these initiatives, Reliance is setting up a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool, spanning 170 acres, which will incorporate automated manufacturing for beverages, packaged water, chocolates, snacks, and flour—creating thousands of job opportunities in the region.
Reliance’s expansion deepens its already significant presence in Andhra Pradesh, where the conglomerate has invested over $25 billion across sectors including oil and gas, digital services through Jio, and retail. Company leadership emphasized their long-term commitment to empowering the state’s growth in AI innovation, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing. Andhra Pradesh aims to become a global AI hub, targeting 6 GW of total data center capacity by 2029, with previous deals signed with Google and Sify, positioning the state as a prime destination for data center investments in India.
