Apple has introduced its latest 14-inch MacBook Pro, powered by the all-new M5 chip, delivering the company’s biggest leap in on-device AI performance and efficiency yet
The M5 chip features a 10-core GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core, enabling up to 3.5x faster AI performance and 1.6x faster graphics than its predecessor. Its 16-core Neural Engine powers advanced generative AI tasks, allowing users to run large language models (LLMs) and diffusion tools directly on the device.
The M5’s CPU, billed as the world’s fastest core, boosts multithreaded performance by 20% over M4, while unified memory bandwidth of 150GB/s lets users work with massive datasets and 3D scenes seamlessly. Apple claims battery life reaches 24 hours, maintaining top-tier performance whether plugged in or not.
Running on macOS Tahoe, the new MacBook Pro adds deeper Apple Intelligence integration, including live translation, improved Spotlight actions, and AI-powered Shortcuts. A refreshed “Liquid Glass” design, transparent menu bar, and customizable color themes modernize the Mac experience.
For creators and professionals, the Liquid Retina XDR display offers 1600 nits HDR brightness, complemented by a 12MP Center Stage camera, six-speaker Spatial Audio, and multiple Thunderbolt ports.
Environmentally, Apple says the M5 MacBook Pro is made from 45% recycled materials, using 100% recycled aluminum and cobalt, and ships in fiber-based recyclable packaging as part of its Apple 2030 carbon-neutral plan.
Available in space black and silver, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 starts at $1,599, with pre-orders open now and availability beginning October 22.
With M5, Apple sets a new standard for AI-ready laptops, combining professional power, intelligent performance, and sustainability in one machine
