Infosys, a global frontrunner in next-generation digital services and consulting, and Telstra, Australia’s premier telecommunications and technology firm, have announced a joint venture aimed at bolstering AI-driven cloud and digital transformation for Australian enterprises. This partnership accelerates Infosys’ strategy to guide clients through their AI journey. Infosys will acquire 75% of Versent Group, a subsidiary of Telstra Group, renowned for its digital transformation solutions. Infosys will assume operational control, while Telstra retains a 25% stake, signaling confidence in the combined growth potential. Versent Group, known for its expertise in implementing cloud strategies, brings a team of 650 engineers, advisors, and strategists across Australia, enhancing Infosys’ local presence. The collaboration will integrate Versent Group’s expertise with Infosys’ AI capabilities, leveraging platforms like Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt, along with The Missing Link’s cybersecurity prowess. This strategic move builds upon prior collaborations, including a 2024 agreement to accelerate Telstra’s software engineering and a 2025 collaboration with Telstra International to drive innovation. Vicki Brady, CEO of Telstra, emphasizes the value unlocked by combining their strengths. Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, highlights the transformative potential of Infosys Topaz. Oliver Camplin-Warner from Telstra Enterprise anticipates growth and innovation for Australian enterprises. Anand Swaminathan of Infosys underscores the unique position to deliver secure and resilient cloud and AI solutions. The transaction is expected to finalize in the second half of FY 2026, pending regulatory approvals. Telstra is Australia’s leading telecommunications provider, while Versent Group is recognized for its digital transformation capabilities. Infosys, with over 320,000 employees, operates in 59 countries.
