OpenAI launches ChatGPT Go in India, a new subscription tier designed to make its most sought-after features more accessible to a wider audience. Priced at just Rs. 399, ChatGPT Go offers Indian users significant enhancements over the free tier.
Subscribers to ChatGPT Go in India will benefit from substantially increased usage limits. These include 10 times higher message limits, enabling more extensive conversations; 10 times more image generations, facilitating greater creative exploration; and 10 times more file uploads, streamlining workflows. Furthermore, users will experience twice the memory capacity compared to the free tier, allowing for more complex and sustained interactions.
In a move towards greater financial inclusivity, all subscriptions in India can be conveniently purchased using UPI (Unified Payments Interface). This simplifies the payment process for Indian users.
While Go is a budget-friendly upgrade, it does not include features such as access to legacy models like GPT-4o, connectors for third-party integrations, Sora video creation tools, or API usage, which is billed separately. These features remain exclusive to ChatGPT Plus (Rs 1,999/month) and Pro (Rs 19,900/month) subscriptions.
Addressing a key user demand, OpenAI is prioritizing affordability with the introduction of ChatGPT Go. Starting with India, OpenAI plans to carefully evaluate user feedback before potentially expanding the Go tier to other countries, ensuring a tailored and responsive global rollout.
