Mukesh Ambani unveils new AI subsidiary with a mission to build green-powered data centres, AI services, and talent hubs for India.
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Chairman & Managing Director Mukesh Ambani on Friday announced the incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence, aimed at spearheading the group’s artificial intelligence (AI) ambitions. The announcement came during RIL’s 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
“I am proud that Artificial Intelligence is already at the heart of Reliance’s transformation into a deep-tech enterprise. To bring even more focus and speed to this agenda, I am privileged to announce the formation of Reliance Intelligence,” Ambani told shareholders.
Four Pillars of Reliance Intelligence
Reliance Intelligence has been designed with four strategic missions.
The first is to build India’s next-generation AI infrastructure. The subsidiary will develop gigawatt-scale, AI-ready data centres in Jamnagar, powered entirely by Reliance’s green energy ecosystem. These facilities, to be delivered in phases, are tailored for AI training and inference at national scale.
The second mission is to create global partnerships with leading technology companies and open-source communities. By combining Reliance’s execution strength with global AI innovation, the company aims to provide resilient supply chains, performance leadership, and India-first compliance.
The third focus area is on AI services for India. Reliance Intelligence intends to deliver affordable, reliable, and easy-to-use AI services for consumers, enterprises, and small businesses. These services will also address critical national sectors such as Education, Healthcare, and Agriculture.
Finally, the subsidiary will serve as a hub for AI talent, bringing together researchers, engineers, and product designers to transform ideas into real-world innovations.
A Strategic Deep-Tech Bet
The launch of Reliance Intelligence underscores Ambani’s ambition to transform RIL into a deep-tech powerhouse, aligning infrastructure, services, and talent under one umbrella. With this move, Reliance positions itself to become a key driver of India’s AI revolution while building global competitiveness.
