Delhivery, one of India’s largest logistics and supply chain companies, has taken a bold step into the fast-moving world of instant deliveries with the launch of its new service: Delhivery Direct. Aimed at providing on-demand intracity deliveries, the service promises to make local shipping more accessible, efficient, and reliable for both individuals and businesses.
Whether it’s sending a forgotten laptop charger to a friend, delivering legal documents across town, or enabling same-day delivery for a small business, Delhivery Direct is designed to do it all within city limits.
The new offering is available through a dedicated mobile app, where users can book a pickup and have a delivery executive arrive within minutes. The service is initially live in select metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, with plans to expand to more urban areas by the end of the year.
A Game Changer for Local Deliveries
With this move, Delhivery joins a growing list of logistics and tech companies tapping into the booming intracity delivery space. But what sets Delhivery Direct apart is the infrastructure and technology behind it.
Delhivery already operates a nationwide logistics network handling e-commerce, B2B, and B2C shipments. Now, it’s bringing that experience into the hyperlocal segment where speed, route optimization, and real-time tracking are key.
For individual users, Delhivery Direct offers the convenience of fast, app-based shipping without needing a courier account or bulk volumes. For local businesses especially D2C brands, pharmacies, bakeries, and independent stores it provides a plug-and-play delivery arm that can scale with their daily needs.
Speaking to journalists, Sahil Barua, co-founder and CEO of Delhivery, said, “With Delhivery Direct, we’re making it possible for anyone to ship across town in a few hours, not days. This service is about speed, trust, and flexibility. Whether you’re a student, a baker, or a business owner, now you have a reliable delivery partner right in your pocket.”
India’s appetite for instant service is growing food, grocery, medicine, and even fashion are being delivered in under an hour. Consumers expect the same convenience for personal and business packages too.
With rising demand in tier 1 and tier 2 cities, intracity logistics has become one of the hottest sectors in last-mile delivery. By entering early with a full-stack offering, Delhivery hopes to build loyalty and trust with both retail and enterprise users.
The service also fills a gap for professional-grade, trackable deliveries that are more reliable than calling a local courier or handing packages to ride-hailing drivers. From ID proof to route tracking, Delhivery Direct is built to offer a more secure and transparent experience.
The company plans to integrate AI-based route optimization and add features like recurring pickups for businesses. Delhivery Direct will soon also offer APIs for platforms and online stores to integrate direct-to-door delivery for their customers.
As India’s cities grow denser and consumers demand speed and simplicity, Delhivery Direct may become the “Uber for packages” an on-demand solution that fits into everyday life.
