Emergent AI, a coding platform founded in 2025 by Mukund and Madhav Jha, has raised $23 million in a funding round led by Lightspeed, bringing its total capital to $30 million. While funding news alone is noteworthy, the real story lies in what Emergent is building which is a platform that allows anyone to create production-ready software using natural language prompts, without writing a single line of code.
This can be revolutionary for the software industry for two main reasons. First, it lowers traditional barriers to software creation. Historically, building apps required technical expertise, developer teams, and significant budgets. Emergent’s AI-powered agents handle frontend, backend, testing, deployment, and integration automatically. This means small business owners, individual creators, and non-technical users can build complex applications that previously needed specialized teams.
