Tripura has been recording an impressive 66% average growth in startup recognitions over the past five years, making it a front-runner in the northeastern region. The state leads not only in top-performing tier 2 and 3 districts but also in the number of women-led startups, according to Jeya Ragul Geshan B., Director of Tripura’s IT Department.

Speaking at the Tamil Nadu Global Startup Summit 2025 in Coimbatore, Mr. Geshan highlighted the state government’s focus on innovation and entrepreneurship under Chief Minister Manik Saha. Tripura is implementing incentive schemes and initiatives to encourage startups and attract investments, aiming to strengthen its role in India’s innovation-led growth story. With this momentum, Tripura is positioning itself as a key startup hub in the northeast, creating opportunities for entrepreneurs and fostering inclusive growth across smaller districts.

Building on this, the Tripura Startup Policy 2024 introduced ₹50 crore in funding for entrepreneurs, grants for students and incubators, and patent support for innovators. With these initiatives, Tripura continues to encourage innovation, support women-led ventures, and strengthen its position as a key destination for startups in India.
