ChatGPT Go paid plan has been made free from today, November 4, 2025, in India. OpenAI is offering the ChatGPT Go subscription, which normally costs Rs 399 per month, free for one year to all eligible users in India. This promotional offer requires users to provide a valid payment method (such as a credit card or UPI) during sign-up, but no charges will be made during the free 12-month period. After the one-year free period ends, the subscription will automatically renew at the current rate unless canceled earlier. Existing paid subscribers are also automatically transitioned into the free one-year plan. This move is aimed at accelerating AI adoption in India, one of OpenAI’s key growth markets.
OpenAI cited India’s rapidly growing AI user base and the doubling of paid subscriptions since ChatGPT Go’s launch in August 2025 as key reasons for this initiative. The company aims to strengthen its presence amid growing competition.
