The Reserve Bank of India is overhauling bank supervision, shifting from periodic physical inspections to a technology-first, near real-time regime. At the Third Annual Global Conference of the College of Supervisors in Mumbai on January 9, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said supervision should be “more off-site than on-site,” powered by advanced analytics, AI, and supervisory technology tools.
