Telegram has approached the Delhi High Court challenging India’s temporary nationwide ban imposed ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam, arguing it unfairly impacts over 150 million users. The government said the restriction was necessary to curb fraudulent channels selling fake question papers, while also ordering Telegram to disable message editing until June 30. Telegram CEO Pavel Durov criticized the move, calling it ineffective, as the court prepares to hear the matter before the June 21 test.
