Indian companies have committed a record $20.5 billion in investments across the United States, spanning technology, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals.
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor announced the pledges on May 6, 2026, via X, crediting President Donald Trump’s leadership for driving record capital inflows. The commitments emerged from the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit in National Harbor, Maryland, held May 3-6.
Twelve Indian firms announced $1.1 billion in immediate investments at the event, poised to create nearly 2,500 American jobs, according to summit statements. Pharmaceuticals dominate with over $19.1 billion, led by Sun Pharmaceutical’s $11.75 billion acquisition of Organon & Co.
Key players include Sterlite Technologies, planning a $100 million greenfield optical fiber factory; Abhyuday Group with $900 million for manufacturing clusters; and PR Jindal Group investing $87 million in Texas and Mississippi. Others such as Polyhose, Jivo Wellness, TechDome Solutions, AZRAXA, and Atri AI target advanced manufacturing, AI, energy, and aerospace.
US Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade William Kimmitt highlighted the unprecedented scale of India’s participation, marking the highest announcements by any single delegation. The US Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs called it a record-breaking moment for bilateral ties.
Gor emphasized mutual benefits, stating that business between the world’s largest democracies creates wins for all. These deals underscore growing economic momentum between India and the US.
