India’s private space sector has grown from one startup in 2014 to over 400 in 2026, attracting US$618.5 million in private investment. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh told the Rajya Sabha on 23 July that the sector has expanded rapidly. The government has also tightened ISRO resignation rules to retain scientists working on critical national missions.
