Opendoor is shutting down its India operations and laying off around 250 employees, less than two years after establishing offices in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. CEO Kaz Nejatian said the move is part of a strategy to bring operations closer to US customers while expanding the use of AI-native teams. The company will provide severance and transition support, with a small team remaining temporarily to complete workflow migrations under its Opendoor 2.0 restructuring initiative.
