Uber Technologies Inc. is establishing its first data center in India through a partnership with the Adani Group. The ride-hailing company’s CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, announced the development on Wednesday following a meeting with Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani in Ahmedabad.
Khosrowshahi highlighted India’s emergence as a key innovation hub for Uber. “As India fast emerges as a leading innovation hub for Uber, we are setting up our first data center in the country with the Adani Group to test and deploy our tech,” he posted on X.
The facility aims to enable Uber to build technology products at scale, from India for global markets. It is slated to become operational later this year, supporting the company’s expansion in one of its fastest-growing markets.
The announcement underscores growing infrastructure investments by global tech firms in India amid rising demand for data processing and cloud capabilities. Uber’s move marks a significant step in localizing its tech footprint.
