Google has introduced Gemini 3.5 Live Translate, a speech-to-speech translation model supporting over 70 languages with near real-time multilingual conversations. Integrated into Google Translate, Google Meet and developer tools, it preserves speaker tone and pacing while translating streaming audio with minimal delay. The model supports more than 2,000 language pairs in Meet and includes SynthID watermarking for AI-generated audio, alongside safeguards and disclosed limitations around accents, noise and voice consistency.
