India Unveils Varya: A Culturally-Specific, Affordable AI Video Generation Model

India’s Avataar.Ai, under the IndiaAI Mission, launched Varya, an indigenous AI video generation model. Built on 14 billion parameters, it’s 27x faster and cheaper than global models, generating a 211-second video for ₹100. Varya prioritizes affordability and cultural specificity, aiming to democratize AI access for educators, MSMEs, and creators, showcasing India’s capacity for advanced, inclusive AI innovation.
