Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Slovak PM Robert Fico have elevated ties to a Comprehensive Partnership during Modi’s historic state visit to Bratislava, the first by an Indian PM since 1993. The leaders signed 11 agreements spanning defence, digital technologies (AI, 5G/6G, semiconductors, IoT), labour migration, social security, higher education, audiovisual creation, quantum communication, critical infrastructure, tourism, and wellness systems. Bilateral trade hit €1.28B in 2024, with India’s exports up 55.3%. The framework positions Slovakia as a key Central European partner.
