The European Commission has fined Google €890 million for violating the Digital Markets Act, marking its first major penalty under the new rules. The fines include €460 million for allegedly favouring its own services in Search results and €430 million over Google Play restrictions on app developers. Google has 60 days to comply or face additional penalties of up to 5% of its global turnover.
