Razorpay has partnered with Replit, a global AI platform for software creation, to become its official payments partner in India. The collaboration integrates Razorpay’s International Payments Suite into Replit’s platform, enabling seamless INR payments via UPI and cards for Indian subscribers. The rollout begins in beta, targeting Replit’s growing user base in the country, its second-largest market.
This move allows Indian developers to monetize AI-built applications directly through UPI from launch, without establishing a local entity. Razorpay handles compliance, foreign exchange, and USD settlements, streamlining the process for builders. Replit, which has scaled to millions of users and over $300 million in annual recurring revenue, benefits from India’s payments infrastructure, where UPI processes 20 billion transactions monthly, accounting for 85% of digital payments.
Razorpay CEO Harshil Mathur emphasized the partnership’s role in AI development, stating, “AI isn’t just another tech wave – it’s changing how products are built… We’re bringing monetisation directly into the creation process.” Replit CEO Amjad Masad highlighted the seamless integration for conversational AI apps, enabling builders to transition “from an idea to a paid product, instantly and compliantly.”
The tie-up builds on Razorpay’s prior integrations with OpenAI and NPCI for agentic AI payments. It positions both firms to capitalize on India’s developer ecosystem amid surging demand for localized payment solutions in global AI tools.
