Google and Epic Games have ended their six‑year antitrust fight over Android apps, leaving intact Judge James Donato’s 2024 injunction. From July 22, 2026, Google Play must host rival app stores with access to its full catalog until Nov 1, 2027. Developers’ apps will auto‑list unless they opt out, while third‑party stores must join the Play Catalog Access Program. The ruling bars Play Billing mandates, opening space for rivals like Microsoft’s Xbox store.
