Reliance Jio Infocomm has denied Telegram CEO Pavel Durov’s allegation that it was involved in a BGP hijacking disrupting access outside India. Jio clarified that AS55836, its identifier, was not linked to any routing issue and reaffirmed adherence to global Internet best practices. Durov had cited AS18101, but industry sources note this belongs to Reliance Communications, not Jio. The dispute coincides with India’s Telegram ban until June 22 during the NEET‑UG re‑exam.
