Meta has quietly released Forum, a standalone app built around Facebook Groups and pitched as a space for more in-depth discussions and answers. The app appeared in the App Store without a formal launch, and Meta has said it is still in testing.
Forum requires a Facebook account and carries over a user’s profile, activity, and group memberships. The app also lets people browse posts from groups they already belong to, while surfacing additional groups based on interests selected during onboarding.
The product includes AI features such as an “Ask” tool that can search across multiple groups for responses, as well as an AI assistant for group administrators. Meta says the focus remains on answers from real people, with AI used to help users find relevant discussions more quickly.
Forum also supports pseudonymous posting in some cases, giving it a more Reddit-like feel. Posts made through the app sync back to Facebook, allowing conversations to continue across both products
