Google Cloud has launched AI Threat Defense, an automated security system that combines Gemini, Wiz, CodeMender and Mandiant to help organizations identify, prioritize and fix vulnerabilities before they are exploited. The company said the platform is designed for a threat landscape in which attacks that once took weeks can now unfold in hours or days.
The platform is built around four stages: Prepare, Scan and Prioritize, Remediate and Monitor. Google said the goal is to reduce unnecessary exposure, use AI-driven analysis to validate real attack paths, accelerate patching and maintain continuous detection at runtime.
Wiz provides the exposure map at the center of the system, continuously discovering applications, infrastructure, APIs, identities and runtime environments. Google said Wiz also uses an AI, context-aware pen-testing agent to simulate attacks and validate complex exploit paths.
For remediation, Google said CodeMender can generate fixes directly in developer workflows, including IDEs and command-line tools, while automatically producing tests to verify patches before they go live. Mandiant contributes response planning and threat expertise to help translate findings into action.
Google said partners including Accenture, Deloitte, PwC, Netenrich and TENEX.AI will help customers deploy and manage the platform. The announcement builds on Google Cloud’s security push at its Next 2026 conference in April, where it expanded its security offerings with Wiz integration.
