Tata Consultancy Services has entered into a long-term strategic partnership with SKF to modernise the industrial group’s global IT landscape and build an AI-driven digital foundation across its operations. The collaboration, announced in Gothenburg and Mumbai, is aimed at helping SKF become a future-ready digital enterprise and accelerating its intelligent transformation agenda worldwide.
Under the agreement, TCS will provide end-to-end managed services for SKF’s applications, infrastructure, data, end-user services, security and connectivity across global locations. The programme is designed to simplify and modernise SKF’s technology environment, standardise operations, strengthen a domain-led technology architecture and support the design and adoption of a next-generation enterprise resource planning platform.
SKF president and chief executive Rickard Gustafson said the next decade of industrial manufacturing will be shaped by how deeply companies integrate artificial intelligence into the way they design, produce and serve customers. He described the partnership as a long-term commitment between two companies that share a view on where industrial manufacturing is heading, positioning it as central to building operational and AI foundations intended to set new standards for precision and customer value in the sector.
TCS managing director and chief executive K. Krithivasan said the engagement focuses on modernising SKF’s global IT landscape and creating a resilient, scalable digital foundation. He said the companies plan to apply data-driven intelligence and AI to build a more agile enterprise that can respond to technological and market change, while supporting long-term sustainable growth and competitiveness and advancing SKF’s ambition to become an AI-native, technology-driven industrial manufacturer.
The partnership will support a globally connected operating model at SKF that combines centralised, AI-enabled systems and harmonised processes with flexibility to address local market needs. SKF aims to embed AI across IT, business and products to drive faster growth, improve customer experience and advance strategic priorities at global and regional levels, supported by TCS’s full-stack AI capabilities and access to innovation ecosystems.
TCS said the SKF deal builds on its long-standing presence in the Nordic region, where it has operated since 1991 and employs more than 20,000 people supporting enterprises in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. The company highlighted its multiple offices in Sweden, its TCS Pace Studio innovation facility in Stockholm and its recognition as a top employer in Europe and Sweden, as well as broader global credentials including a workforce across 56 countries and consolidated revenue of more than 30 billion dollars in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.
