India’s tech job market is tightening as over 56,000 professionals from major global firms enter the talent pool while active openings dropped to 93,000 in June, a 28-month low, Xpheno reported. Tech vacancies fell 14% month-on-month, with entry-level roles down 44% year-on-year. Global layoffs, returning H-1B workers and cautious AI-driven hiring are intensifying competition, even as demand persists in GCCs and select non-tech sectors.
