Anthropic has introduced Reflect, a new beta feature for its Claude chatbot that helps users understand how they use AI over time. The tool shows usage patterns and encourages people to use the chatbot more intentionally.
On Thursday, Anthropic announced Reflect, a beta feature for Claude that gives users a closer look at their chatbot activity over a selected period. The feature shows when people use Claude, what they use it for, and whether their usage aligns with the goals they had in mind. It has been described as a “Claude Wrapped” because it provides a summary of a user’s AI habits.
The company said Reflect is designed to help users better understand how they interact with AI. Instead of encouraging people to spend more time using Claude, the feature is meant to help them think about whether they are using it in the way they intended. It brings a screen-time-style approach to AI by allowing users to review their chatbot activity.
Reflect comes as Claude continues to gain more users. According to one industry estimate, Claude accounted for around 10 percent of the daily active chatbot user share in the United States as of July 1, 2026. Anthropic also updated its privacy policy, with the changes taking effect on July 8, one day before announcing Reflect, to reflect Claude’s evolution from a simple chatbot into a more advanced AI system.
Anthropic has been studying how people use Claude through its research. In March 2026, the company analyzed the activity of 80,000 users and found that many people were using the chatbot for more than just finding information. Users were also turning to Claude for emotional support and personal introspection. The company’s Economic Index report, released in June 2026, found that Claude is used more during the workweek, while personal conversations become more common on weekends.
The launch of Reflect also highlights Anthropic’s approach to AI development. Rather than trying to increase the amount of time people spend using the chatbot, the company wants users to think about whether their interactions with Claude are helping them achieve their own goals. This differs from the attention-focused model followed by many consumer technology platforms.
