The debut external raise brought in $7.4B at a $50B valuation, with Liang personally investing $3B. His wealth now surpasses OpenAI’s Greg Brockman ($25.5B) and Anthropic’s Dario Amodei ($8B). Liang, also founder of High‑Flyer Capital, launched DeepSeek in 2023 and gained global attention with its R1 model in 2025.
