OnePlus has confirmed that it will stop launching new products in the United States and Europe as part of a global restructuring by its parent company, Oppo. The company has denied reports of an India exit, saying its business in the country will continue as usual.
OnePlus has announced that it will no longer launch new smartphones and other products in the United States and Europe as Oppo restructures its global smartphone business.
The decision follows months of speculation about OnePlus’ future in several international markets. Some reports claimed that the company was planning to scale back its presence in markets including India. However, OnePlus has denied those claims and said there are no changes to its operations in the country.
In a statement, OnePlus said, “OnePlus India continues to operate its business as usual, with all local operations on track.” The company also described reports about an India exit as unverified speculation.
Although OnePlus will stop introducing new products in the US and Europe, existing customers in those markets will continue to receive software updates, warranty coverage, and after-sales support.
The move is part of Oppo’s global restructuring as the smartphone industry faces slowing demand, rising component costs, and higher production expenses.
Reports also suggest Oppo is focusing more on selected European markets. The company has also started displaying Oppo products on the OnePlus website in countries such as Spain and Germany, indicating closer cooperation between the two brands.
Industry reports further suggest that Oppo is working towards a more unified software experience. OxygenOS, ColorOS, and Realme UI already share the same codebase, making deeper software integration possible in the future.
The smartphone industry continues to face a challenging environment. Smartphone shipments in China fell 4.3% year-on-year in the second quarter, while Counterpoint Research said global smartphone shipments have dropped to their lowest level since 2013.
For customers in India, OnePlus said its operations, products, and customer support will continue without any changes.
