India and Spain are in early talks to link Unified Payments Interface with Bizum, exploring interoperability for smoother cross-border digital payments. The initiative could let Indian travellers pay Spanish merchants via UPI enabled apps. However, technical design, bank partnerships, merchant adoption and a launch timeline remain unresolved, so existing payment options stay in place.
