India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has called for deeper collaboration between India and Estonia in trade, investment, innovation and technology during an address to the India–Estonia Business Forum in Tallinn.
The forum, held as part of Goyal’s official visit to Estonia, brought together senior government representatives, industry leaders and business delegations from both countries to explore ways to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation. The event opened with welcome remarks from Estonia’s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, followed by Goyal’s inaugural address.
In his remarks, Goyal highlighted India’s economic transformation over the past two decades and underlined its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies. He pointed to India’s strong growth trajectory, expanding manufacturing base, innovation ecosystem and ongoing reforms as creating significant opportunities for global businesses and investors.
Estonian officials used the platform to present an overview of Estonia’s business ecosystem, its digital governance framework and its innovation-led growth model. Representatives from Indian industry shared perspectives on India’s economic progress, growing investment potential and emerging avenues for closer business collaboration between the two countries.
Discussions at the forum focused on expanding bilateral trade, promoting investment flows and fostering innovation-driven partnerships in areas such as digital technologies, startups and advanced manufacturing. Dedicated networking sessions enabled direct engagement between business leaders and stakeholders from both sides to identify specific opportunities in these sectors.
