A high-level delegation from Ford Motor Company met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay in Chennai on Monday to discuss the automaker’s plans in the state, including manufacturing expansion and its global capability centres. The meeting took place at the Secretariat and was led by Ford Vice President Mathew Godlewski.
According to reports, the discussions focused on expediting Ford’s manufacturing operations in Tamil Nadu and exploring future investment plans. The company has already signalled interest in reviving its manufacturing facility at Maraimalai Nagar near Chennai.
Tamil Nadu has also extended support for Ford’s plans, with the chief minister assuring full assistance for the company’s proposed activities in the state. The talks come months after Ford outlined a ₹3,250-crore plan linked to the Chennai facility.
Ford’s renewed engagement with Tamil Nadu underscores the company’s continued interest in the state’s automotive ecosystem. The exact outcome of the latest meeting was not disclosed.
