Indian government has launched the Trade Intelligence & Analytics (TIA) Portal, a unified digital platform designed to bolster export growth and support MSMEs amid global trade tensions. Launched by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, the portal consolidates over 270 interactive visualizations across 28 dashboards to offer real-time insights into India’s trade flows with more than 220 countries. Its analytics tools facilitate trade diversification, identify new export opportunities, and evaluate market trends.
The portal integrates global databases like UN Comtrade with bilateral trade data, creating a comprehensive system that enhances evidence-based policymaking and strategic decision-making. Features such as the Trade Watch Tower enable granular country- and commodity-level insights, helping exporters understand demand patterns and competitiveness. It also provides key trade indices like the Trade Complementarity Index and Revealed Comparative Advantage, supporting deeper analysis of India’s trade performance.
Designed to replace legacy systems, the platform automates workflows such as monthly trade reports and surge monitoring, significantly improving data accuracy and accessibility. By empowering small businesses with actionable insights, the TIA Portal aims to strengthen India’s export ecosystem, diversify trade avenues, and enhance its resilience in an uncertain global environment. The initiative underscores India’s focus on data-driven trade policy and digital transformation to unlock new growth opportunities.
