CISF has proposed installing facial recognition cameras at major Indian airports and linking them to NATGRID-backed databases through a central command network. The system aims to identify suspects and fugitives in real time using data from multiple government records. It is expected to be rolled out first at six major airports. While intended to strengthen security, the proposal has also raised privacy and surveillance concerns.
