The Karnataka High Court has refused to stay the Karnataka Platform-Based Gig Workers (Social Security and Welfare) Act, 2025, keeping India’s first state gig work law operational. Petitions by IAMAI and platforms such as Eternal (Zomato), Swiggy, Zepto, Urban Company and Valmo Transportation continue, challenging its constitutional validity and alleged conflict with the Code on Social Security, 2020.
